For some reason when I burn a CD, there are a few tracks that just refuse to play. I thought it was just my stereo, it tends to stop on the track and refuses to play it. Then I gave one to my friend and same thing happens on their stereo. She's only school (and has win98) so she doesn't know how to rip, even though it's super easy... so i'll have to show her.
But still, they should work, anyone know what's up?

It might be a media issue.....

Could be bad media. Have you tried another stack of CDs (from a different manufacturer, perhaps)?

I don't think it's that, because when she didn't have any CD-Rs I gave her one of mine and her copy seemed to work just fine...at least on my comp. Could just be our stereos? Hmm

Just to make sure, I'd try another brand of CDR's and see what happens. I have good success with Mitsui or the TDK "music" (cheap at Costco) CD's that are designed to work with stereos. The reflectivity quality of a CDR can have influence on how well it plays in stereos. If nothing else, you'd have more info to go on........
