up here, just about anything goes it seems...friday nights we have the "blue movie" and if you watch the french channels you'll see boobs just about anytime - i was surfing channels sunday mid-afternoon and there they were....

I remember seeing something on the news once about someone who found a way for people who had been paralysed to obtain an erection and ejaculate, thus being able to have children.
They actually showed the process videotaped at some hospital... it looked like some sort of massage thingamabob that the nurse was rubbing on the guy's d*ck, and there was indeed full hard-on and everything - in the 7 o'c(l)ock news no less...

I suppose you could get away with that on U.S. broadcast news, but I'm pretty sure that every single local channel and network knows better than to actually show it.

Well, the Danish news (on TV2 that is, not the ones on DR) are always trying to make the news more interesting... there was a Danish porn movie (called "Constance" if I recall correctly) which won some kind of international awards or something, and they showed a clip from that as well, although they did choose one of the less hardcore parts of the movie...

In the US, it depends a lot on the how they are presented.
Networks:
Sexual Boobs, bad.
Nonsexual, Schindlers List Boobs, OK.
Basic Cable:
Sexual Boobs, bad.
Medical Show Boobs, OK.
This is a place with a system where kissing a boob will get you an NC-17 or X rating, but chopping one off only gets you an R.

Strange isn't it? Violence is okay, just not sexuality. Odd... maybe there's more of a fear of people picking up *deviant* sexual behavior than violent behavior. Perhaps some truth to that - I think I'd be more likely to "try out" something in a porno than to go shoot someone up like they did in [insert any movie pretty much anymore]. Not arguing for or against, just making an observation.
