My school uses WebEvent as its on-line calendering system. I can, it seems, export events from WebEvent as either a .cvs file or a .vcs file.
I have tried exporting calenders from my school as .vcs files. When I attempt to import them into iCal, iCal flashes me an error, "This calender file is unreadable. No events have been added to your iCal calender.)
(NOTE:The only web browser to correctly download these files is Camino. Safari times-out. Explorer saves them as "webevent.cgi" files which iCal does not recognize. Only Camino saves the downloaded files as "events.vcs")
I have tried the .cvs files, but iCal does not recognize these.
Any advice?

Can you post or link to an example file?

The files it produces don't quite follow the vCal spec. Specifically, the specification says lines should be in the form:
Code:
BEGIN:VEVENT
DTSTART:20040730T120000Z
but your school's website produces files in the form:
Code:
BEGIN: VEVENT
DTSTART: 20040730T120000Z
It's a subtle difference, but do you see the extra space?
So do the following:
1. Download the file.
(If the file ends up named 'webevent.cgi', just rename it to events.vcs.
2. Open TextEdit.
3. Drag-and-drop the file onto TextEdit.
4. Select Edit:Find:Find, put ': ' (without the quotes) in the 'Find' box, and just ':' (that is, without the space) in the Replace box. Hit Replace All.
5. Save the file.
Now when you drag and drop the file into the iCal calendar list, it should import fine.
