My 2000 Saturn SL2 just after it was totaled. I wasn't at fault, though, and insurance covered getting me a brand new one just a couple weeks later.

A 1986 Nissan Pickup Truck. I'm 18, have no job, and it was the only extra car around the house. At least I have a new quicksilver, so I have something to make me feel powerful.

Mac(s) running OS X: PowerBook Firewire 400/320MB/20GB and hopefully soon Dual 800 G4
Mac incapable of running OS X: PM 8600/300 (interested, anyone?) and Supermac s900/200
PC(s) wanting badly to run OS X: Dell P3-500/512MB/40GB U2W, DIY P3-800MHz/1GB/2-40GB, and DIY Athlon 1.3GHz/1.5GB/60GB...others too old.

Wheels: Silver 2001 Civic EX (sedan! gasp!), 1998 white Cobra (blown, finally! fast!) and 1993 white Ford Probe GT (banged up money pit in need of new owner or trade in for Acura RSX-S -- perhaps the beginning of the end of American cars for me.
You can ask me anything. Just don't question me.

What an exceedingly strange thread...However:

iMac DV, 400 rev/sec, 80GB internal, 192MB RAM, top speed of 768/128kbps, upgraded to 2mbps/192kbps next Monday.

Owning a car here in Hamburg is among the stupidest things you can do. My car is anything from a Smart, Fords and Opels (Holden to you Australians), to a huge Mercedes Transit transporter, depending on what I need it for.

It comes courtesy of drive!, which is a member of the ECS (European Car Sharing). Far cheaper than owning one myself, far more flexible, and far less hassle - and, FWIW, I've never *not* gotten a car when I needed it.

That's what I thought too. My company bought my Ti PB. You'll be pleased to know that it now has it's full 1Gig of RAM (I wanted it in time for 10.1)

Ben.

So, err, BritBen. How precisely have you managed to get a Vanquish in Canada when shipments to the US only started in the last couple of days (September 2001). Not to mention the rather lengthy waiting list you'd have to deal with for one of these handbuilt puppies.

Oh, and I drive a DB7. Really. Glorious motor. Would love a Vanquish, though, but 200,000 dollars plus for a V12 is a little hard to justify right now.

Yeah Moki, the S4 may be faster but this car is IMHO gorgeous. Hopefully the S4 based on the new A4 will look more like this

This isn't *my* S4 (I don't have any pictures of it, I don't think), but it's a nice picture of a silver S4 -- not the same model year as mine either. Ah well -- still looks nice.

Well, let's see now....

Firstly shipments to the US didn't have a fixed date. The cars whip as they are built for their respective new owners, depending on their position in the build schedule.

Secondly, I got it to Canada the same way any sane person moving from England to Canada would, by sea shipment.

Waiting lists are waiting lists. You go see a dealer, pay a deposit, get on one, and you well, to put it simply, wait. In case you don't understand the smiley, it was sarcasm. I didn't know of the existance of TiPB when I ordered the car. It does go rather well though.

So, if you had registered, I could have replied directly, rather than wasting everyone else's time, but no big deal.

Regards,
Brit.

93 Dodge shadow ES 5spd (3.0 6cyl kicks!)
99 Saturn SL2 (wife)

74 Super Beetle (in restoration)

Some of you guys have quite exotic cars. I'm jealous. OTOH I have a huge house on acres of land on a lake, so I guess it's woth the tradeoff.
