Took my 15 Al to an Apple store last Monday to have a Genius look at the uneven illumination problem. Got it back from repair on Friday. Screen looks great; like it is supposed to. I was a few days past the warranty period, but they took care of me at no charge. Awesome! Just hope that this is not some sort of recurring issue.

hey sirf, did they change the whole screen? how bad was your uneven illumination?

i send mine (with several other problems) and received it back with the same annoyingly uneven lighted screen. and my screen was already replaced once becuase it had white spots.

i sent mine in at the end of august to fix the uneven illumination.

everything was great for a little over a month. then the problem came back. i'm supposed to get the box to send it back tomorrow. they only replaced the lcd and diffuser last time. i've heard that some people have had better luck after getting their inverter boards replaced.
