Goosen Wins Tour Championship

POSTED: 10:38 p.m. EST November 7, 2004
Atlanta, Ga. --

Atlanta, Ga. -- Retief Goosen pulled down the curtain on the P-G-A Tour season by running away with the season-ending Tour Championship with a four-shot victory over Tiger Woods.

Goosen shot a final-round six-under 64 to finish eleven under par at East Lake Golf Club. Woods shot two-over 72 to finish alone in second.

Goosen's first-place check was worth one (M) million-eighty-thousand dollars.

Jerry Kelly wound up third after posting a five-under 65 on the final day.
-----------
Tiger was heard wondering

"No. I mean, how can it be? I was winning a lot of tournaments three or four years ago.''
-------------

Thats a stinking lotta money though for the winner.

waky waky!

Although, when Tiger has her to go home to ...

Not if he can't find the hole there either.

Am I the only one who thought "10.4" when I saw the thread title?

Nope. I was all ready to answer, "It's still out there. Seeds are flying around and the final isn't scheduled until next year." thinking the poster wasn't keeping up with the news... yes, I thought of all that from the time I clicked the link to the time it loaded.

He got beat - again.

Although to his credit, its only his third loss going into the last round with the lead/co-lead.

I'm wondering if the author chuckled while creating this thread.
And, yes, I thought 10.4 as well.

Here's what Vijay thinks:
"I'm sure he's going to start winning sooner or later, but at the moment I think his focus is elsewhere," said Singh.

"I think it's his body change a little bit and his golf swing change. As you get older you have to keep adjusting to your golf swing. I think your body does not stay the same.

"When he first came on to the scene, he was extremely strong. I'm not saying he isn't strong now, but you do slow down a little bit. The golf swing has to match your body ability.

"I don't think he has progressed that way. There's been a big change in his body mannerisms and his golf swing.

"You know I have adjusted accordingly and for the better, and I don't think he has done that.

"I think his body and his golf swing do not match like it did some five years or four years ago, so he has to adjust that. I'm sure once he figures that one out he'll be okay."
