He was the main witness in an upcoming trial against a Saudi national accused of massive financial support for islamic freedom fighters (you'd call 'em 'terrists'). Maybe you should put the marshmellows away, get your hand off your ****, and get out the fire extinguisher. You worm.

Zimphire: celebrating death since 2002.
What the f*ck is wrong with you, man? This is a tragedy, not a comedy.

I think it is sick the way some people revel in death.

Zimph, I've smelled burning flesh. I guarantee it'll put you off your marshmallows for a while.

I'm not implying any equivalence, but I'm reminded of the self-immolation of Thich Quang Duc and others in protesting the effects of the Vietnam war.

The flames were quickly smothered, and he was sent to the hospital. This stunt could have been on Jackass or America's Worst Videos - right next to the clip of the guy that duct tapes explosive filled watermelons to his head.

Zimphire, you remind me of some students that were thrown out of class in one of my Dialogs classes.

We were talking about civil rights movements and watched that news clip with the Buddhist monks setting themselves on fire in protest of the occupation of Tibet. I had seen it plenty of times before so I knew what was going to happen, perhaps one of the most emotional videos I've ever seen.

3 students started laughing at it, made some joke or comment I didn't catch. Don't think I've ever seen a professor quite so angry in my entire life. They were thrown out of class and never returned.

In short, you're an assh*le.

Some people are not mature or psychologically equipped appropriately to understand such a tragedy, let alone witness it.

I find it difficult to blame them, even though I find this sort of attitude repulsive. After a while, we learn to not take them for what they do and instead, try to explain what was exactly involved in both incident: the immolation, and the laughing about it. There is a lot to be learned from human nature in such circumsatnces.

Nevertheless, I feel sorry for the poor man who decided to carry a message and tried to sacrifice his life to ensure it would be passed on. Fos some of us, it was only madness, but for some people, like some terrorists, it is in their mind the only way to carry a message, even if that messagte is actually going to thounsandfold more damageable to their cause.

There is a lot of despair when people commit suicide, even more so for people killing themselves for a purpose they cherish and that so few can undserstand the depth, sometimes, no one can understand, for such individuals will do so for their own reasons.

I wonder if this counts as anti-terrorism, since the only victim was the messenger? A terror triggered by what one does but especially because the outcome is that the attack is turned against self, rather than others.

I am sincerily touched and confused by such an act of despairation...

The man was a Non-American and Christian so his death is welcome according to zimphire.

At the same rate he tells others they need help (when it involves Americans).

Yes Simple, and I showed how the two were different didn't I?

Comparing a man setting himself on fire, and living,

and 5 people being hunted down and murdered is a bit different don't cha think?

maybe?

Stop being such a drama queen.

He'll live:

1) disfigured.
2) maybe unable to move.

Maybe he should have died. But you will get the marmallows out...

Me thinks there is not enough drama in your own life is all...
