Sun introduced their next 3D desktop environment Looking Glass a while ago and one of their features was that it allowed you to take notes at the back of any windows. It is looking like Dashboard that you can set the preference when you flip the wedget.

If you have not seen it yet, you can see the demo (video) at:
http://wwws.sun.com/software/looking_glass/demo.html

Now, a 3rd party developer has created some plugin for Mac OS X and make it work just like Looking Glass!

Neat! The animation kinda sucks, but I'll forgive him.

It would be especially cool if it automatically saved the notes, e.g. by auto-saving to a file organized by application, and open document (if that's accessible to the plugin).

The README indicates that he's stopped working on it though, which would be a shame. It has great potential as an everywhere-Stickies.

Hey that's pretty nifty! It's a shame if he did stop developing it.

Since it doesn't save the notes, I can't even see how this is useful in it's current state. I guess if you *never* close a window... but once you do, your notes are gone. What good is that?
OS X: Where software installation doesn't require wizards with shields.
