I have programming background in C++, and I want to write garageband plugins. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I need to know Objective-C? Cocoa? I don't know much about programming in OS X (made this little cocoadevcentral 2 lines of code thing...) but I wanted to probe around and see if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks

I think GarageBand just uses Audio Units.

Are audio units an apple technology? Are they written in Objective C? I'll go look them up. Thanks.

You'll want to head over to http://developer.apple.com . Then search for Audio Units. Also, there are 5 sample Audio Units in /Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/AudioUnits. You will want to download the latest CoreAudio .pdf file from Apple's site as well.

Also, check out the stuff at http://www.u-he.com/caugui/ as well to learn about coding AudioUnit GUIs.

Hope this helps.
