Not sure if this was posted yet or not, but a sneak peak at the Flash 8 player.

Looks like it finally won't be a dog in the performance area...
(And the chief arch. is using OS X to demo it... No if only they write it so all of the effects and performance improvements they are doing in ver. 8 is linked directly into Core Video of Tiger - that would really scream for performance...)

Wow! Now thats something I would like to get my hands on ASAP.
Flash has always been a dog IMO.

Here's some more... looks like Flash 8 will be quite nice, maybe even on OS X: see the second entry on http://www.joshdura.com/archives/2004_11.php and also Mike Downey's Maelstrom demo on
http://macromedia.com/macromedia/events/max/video/2004/

(The crowd is somewhat more enthusiastic in thefirst movie, which gives it a bit more atmosphere IMHO

simple animations still seem to run like ass on the mac version here. Actionscript or tweened. Poop. Perhaps they took care of some of the bottlenecks. A 300mhz PIII can still play some files at higher framerates than a dual G5.
