A variety of students are having problems with corrupted PowerPoint files that will not open. They are saving their files to flash drives.

(Yes, I know of some steps that can be taken to PREVENT corrupted files, but what if any can be done after the files have been corrupted?)

when a file itself is corrupted, the only thing to do is restore from backup.

One useful trick that works with Excel at least is to create a new Powerpoint file and see if you can Insert... slides from the corrupted file into the new file. Worth a shot.
