I just got my new 1 GB iPod shuffle, and much to my dismay, am having big problems with it. First, I plugged it in, updated its firmware to 1.1 and AutoFilled it. No problems there. The next time I plugged it in, tried to AutoFill again, iTunes (4.7.1) said there was not enough space (yes, the "erase before filling" thing was checked) and then reported an "unknown error". After that, the shuffle became 'invisible' to iTunes and was only accessible via the Finder (note that I had not enabled any portion of it for disk use).
I restored factory settings using iPod updater and when I plug it in, only the Finder 'sees' the shuffle. iTunes does not recognize it. After going through the same process a couple of times, iTunes recognizes it sometimes, but about 1/10th of the way into AutoFilling it, gives me an error ("cannot find disk 'Shuffle'") and stops, and then the shuffle's back to being available only to the Finder, becoming invisible to iTunes.
Wazzup????
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
