So, my mp3 collection is on my G4 tower, and I want to move it to my new PC (higher capacity drive). However, whether I log on to the PC from the G4, or the G4 from the PC, whether via Samba, or FTP, or whatever, it simply doesn't copy.

I can log on fine, and copy individual files (most). I believe the problem is those bloody annoying particle files like " Icon" and the "._*" collection.

Is there a way I can copy my entire folder over via standard sharing techniques? This oversight of Apple's seems incredible... I mean really. Am I missing something simple?

Well, nevermind. I gave up and wrote a shell script to delete all my Icon files in my music directory, and that fixed 95% of my problems.

Occasionally a corrupted file/folder or two caused a problem, but duplicating it then deleting the original fixed the problem.

I suppose I really should format the system... it's been running without restoration since the day 10.2 came out.
