BTW throughout the whole BC life, there was a Christian message in it.
Nothing was different from now, and when he won the awards.
It's just the anti-Christian ballooey has grown stronger. That is all.

You mean "to the dismay of the leftie public".
Stryper went down quite well with their non-Christian peers during their popular phase (late 80's - they were hair metal, after all). Trust me on that - this was exactly my scene.
Ted Nugent still rocks.
Heston still rocks.

Johnny didn't get saved from anything. As opposed to Cruise he is a really cool person and a very talented actor.
As far as Paris not making Tom an honoraray citizen, - right on!
Anybody who is involved with scientology shouldn't be "honorary" anything.

Someone took what he said out of context, there was indeed a big deal made about it.
He soon after jumped to apologize for any misunderstanding, and had nothing bad to say about America.
So he was either lying before, lying now, or just trying to cover his but for some reason...

I'm just thinking it bares a closer resemblance to the rose cross (which, admittedly, doesn't predate the Christian cross). There is also similarity with the ankh

Umm.. Yes he is an actor, thats his craft. I wasnt aware of any rule that says a movie star and actor are mutually exclusive fields. One can be both at the same time.
And most actors act in movies that 'pay the bills' whether it's Cruise, Connary, etc. such as Top Gun and James Bond....and that dosent make them bad actors.Tom Cruises performance in Jeryy McGuire and Magnolia are the ones that made me respect him as an actor, as opposed to just a 'movie star'.
In fact many musicians do the same....they have a couple of chart topping singles that pay the bills, but what they do after that makes them musicians/artists as opposed to just celebrities. Examples off the bat: Oasis: Wonderwall, Coldplay:Yellow. There are many more who have that one hit and then fade away fast.
Popularity isnt (or rather shouldnt be) a measure of ones talent in any field.
Cheers

Otoh, this:
"I was ecstatic they re-named 'French Fries' as 'Freedom Fries'. Grown men and women in positions of power in the U.S. government showing themselves as idiots,"
is pretty straight forward. And I won't get into a political flamefest here, but after reading that interview with "Der Stern" I don't think Mr. Depp has anything to apologize for.

Regardless if you think he needed to or not, Johnny felt like he needed to, and did.
He was just giving the foreign media what they wanted. That is all.
This is coming from the same guy that trashed his motel room, and told the police a armadillo came out of his closet, and destroyed his room and left.

Bull. He made similar comments several times. I think you've got it backwards. He gave the conservo american media backlash what they wanted to hear. (Eventhtough I haven't seen where he publicaly apologized for what I quoted. And truth be told, - I don't think he did.)
This:
"America is dumb, it's like a dumb puppy that has big teeth that can bite and hurt you, aggressive"
is what he apologized for.

Yep. But there's no rule which says you have to be an actor to be a movie star either.
Like the Governator. He certainly can't act. But he's a movie star.
Unlike Brad Pitt, who's a movie star but can also act.
Tom Cruise is not an actor. He's a movie star. Period.
Now, that's not to say I don't like some of his movies, because I do. He always plays the same character (himself) but in certain movies that fits just right.

Fair enough... he dosent compare to guys like Gary Oldman or Jhonny Depp as far as diverse roles. but he does act in motion pictures, despite your opinion on him.

No, Johnny has a habit of giving whoever is speaking with, what they wanted to hear.
I have no doubt however that he is a part of the l33t pretentious hollywood left.
And that's just too cool for words. Heh.
Your scale of "cool" is off.
Cool isn't acting like a 3 year old throwing tantrums destroying other people's property for no reason.
That isn't cool. That is spoiled brat. That is spaz.
Johnny is only an actor, because he failed as a musician.
Not slamming his acting skills because he does have them.

Ah I see. In a way it does resemble the rose cross even more.
It is some sort of a mishmash between the two. It just seems like out of the blue to pick a cross like that for their cult. Then again their entire cult is just made up out of the blue. Rather sad.

We'll, at leat internationally speaking, they are the only ones representing the US in a "positive" manner at the moment (except for Cruise, who's an idiot)...as opposed to the mokey a55 govt. which currently is doing it's very best to completely ruin America's image.

Maybe not, - but it's damn cool telling the cops that "an armadillo came out of his closet, and destroyed his room and left".

Looks a bit like it.
Many other variations here: http://altreligion.about.com/library...srosecross.htm
The original is a plain equal-arm cross with a rose in the center. It's still the symbol used my most rosicrucian orders.

He produced a Scientology propaganda movie, after all.

Because John Travolta is a pretty good guy outside of the scientology thing. You could sit down to dinner with him and hear the coolest stories about all kinds of different subjects without ever knowing he's a scientologist.
Sitting down for dinner with Tom Cruise would be like sitting down with an evil Tweak, pushing Scientology and basically being a weirdo. He's more of a fundamentalist scientologist imo. Fundamentalist <insert any religion> people are all pretty weird, but Cruise tops them all.

Metallica's last album went double platinum in the United States, by the way.
And it sucked. Lars is a good drummer, but he sure as hell can't tune his drums. Hammett appears to be MIA on that album. Did anyone hear him on St. Anger? The tour following that album which I had the mistake of attending, featured Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, along with a set list full of that' album's songs. Mistake. Look at the 2004 set list. It's almost all gone. Backlash man. It was a bad album. Let's hope they stop trying the System Of A Down approach. If not, they, along with Van Halen, should just quit.
BTW, France, good job. You did something right. Congrats.

Never said it was any good, just that it sold well.
I haven't had anything good to say about Metallica's music since Puppets.

Justice felt like more of the same but not as good (and the lack of bass guitar made it more annoying than it should have been) and The Black Album felt too streamlined.
And I think Metallica's music needed some streamlining. (Did anyone truly enjoy listening to a single guitar riff repeat for three minutes?) But the self-titled album goes too far in that direction.

In other words, I'm ok with actors being Scientologists... I'll watch John Travolta. Sure, he starred in that god-awful Battlefield Earth L Ron Hubbard thing, but I have yet to see him going around and jumping up and down like a madman saying "I'm a Scientologist! Woot! Look at me! No, and unless he does start doing stuff like that, I'll probably continue to watch Travolta.
But Tom Cruise on the other hand... I'll never be able to watch Top Gun again...

France views Scientology as a dangerous cult. It is one of 200 organisations on a national watch list of organisation that pose a threat to the public. The organisation is regularly in court in France on charges of fraud and using illegal methods to gain new members. Quite a few Scientoligists are in jail in France for a various number of crimes. In most western European countries, Scientology is not recognised as a religion and has no tax exempt status. In Germany, Scientology is viewed with even more suspicion and a 2 year Federal investigation into the organisation came to the conclusion that Scientology's aims and practices are an active threat to Germany's democracy.

Interesting...
The French parliament yesterday adopted Europe's toughest anti-sect legislation yet, creating a controversial new crime of ''mental manipulation'' punishable by a maximum fine of £50,000 and five years imprisonment.
...
But the law's key weapon is the new crime of mental manipulation, defined as ''exercising, within a group whose activities are aimed at creating or exploiting psychological dependence, heavy and repeated pressure on a person, or using techniques likely to alter his judgment, so as to induce him to behave in a way prejudicial to his interests''
I'm guessing that this doesn't apply to the cult of the EU then?
