This seems to good to be true: a G4, w/ decent speeds, ample hard drive, CD-RW, and a nice screen--all for 1100??!! That seems unreal to me. Is there a catch of some sort?? I mean the video card is nice, screen is nice, what is not to like 'bout this Mac?

It's long and ugly and probably not very expandable. But if the latter doesn't matter to you and you don't agree with the former, it's a pretty good deal.

they can sell it for cheap and pick up those less loving of parting with their money
Once the iMac gets it's speed bump the comparison will be slightly bigger between the eMac and the iMac.
Until then, the eMac is a very ncie computer comparably

The only drawback to getting an eMac would be no DVD support (although it would make sense that they would add it in later additions). Oh yeah, and also, the higher resolutions seem to bug people's eyes sometimes. The refresh rates for the higher resolutions are bare minimums. Other than those minor set backs, the eMac seems to be a great machine (and I should be getting one in a week).

They only had internal CDRW support.
Personally I'd rather have the internal DVD. It's quite easy to add an external CD-RW at a later time.
