I know this has been asked numerous times, but i figured i'll make a nice new topic
I've ordered a 12" Powerbook w/ 768Mb RAM -- will i be able to play WoW at a reasonable frame rate? (it has 64Mb VRAM iirc... 1.2GHz G4)

The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

Blizzard's "minimum requirements" page is useless, but your Powerbook should play Wow fine. RAM will be the main bottleneck; boost that to 1.5 GB and you'll get very nice performance (based on my own experiences).

I play WoW on a 12" 1.5Ghz PB with 512 RAM. I have all settings on default.

It plays perfectly in the open and in small towns (literally zero problems). BUT when i enter larger towns or major towns such as ogrimmar where the player density is very high, my machine has serious problems. I don't know how to measure the framerate, but it's very low:=) but still playable (just don't duel).

When you see the words WoW in the title- I suggest you simply ignore the thread.

Blizzards tech specs are a joke.
I'd love to see WoW on 32Mb VRAM.

I don't follow the logic in 'I know this has been asked numerous times, but i figured i'll make a nice new topic'. I don't have a problem with lots of WoW threads, but the search button IS there for a reason. Let's not make a habit of this, people.

You know maybe if you made that thread a sticky people WOULD use the search function.

As long as Ca$h keeps flying off the handle, being insulting and otherwise juvenile, I have a feeling these posts will keep getting made. That's probably the exact logic that went into making yet another thread. Of course, I just keep all of his alter egos on perma-ignore, so I don't have to see his tripe. Making that one thread sticky (especially since the opening post is SOOOOO intelligent) just won't serve any purpose at all. An intelligent, informative and courteous moderator-made sticky, however, might actually help.

<edit> And I see that one has already been made. Excellent.

Life is like a clay pigeon -- sooner or later, someone is going to shoot you down and even if they miss you'll still wind up shattered and broken in the end.

Posting a new topic spurs more discussion and adds more details to the forum.
Sorry?

I can independently confirm that. As you can, banning has somewhat limited effectiveness in some cases. What say we all just try to get along for now.

Oh, and since this thread is already so far off topic, I'm gonna close it now. just so that no more toes are stepped on.
