I want to set up a LAN chat network between both my Macs and other windows boxes and have read that Jabber is the best way to go. My problem is that all Jabber servers for OSX that I've found are way too complicated for me to really install knowledgeably. Can anyone point me towards a standalone .app version of a Jabber Server, or give a recommendation on some other way to setup a multi-platform LAN chat that my consumer level brain can understand?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought to look for a java app. I found a dirt simple chat program (which is all i need) called Mucacha that works brilliantly. If anyone's interested they can download it here.
Cheers.
