hey guys i have a major problem, one minute im using my 17 inch powerbook and all is cool, i turn it off and go out when i get back open it up hit the power button it just makes the noise then goes to a grey screen no osx booting up nothing, please help im useless without my computer lol, im sure you guys undrerstand(WORK!) any way i realy have no clue wht to do so any help at all would be greatly apreciated! THANKS !!!!!

Sounds like a hard drive failure to me. Did you hear any strange noises from your computer recently, anything out of the ordinary? Not to accuse you of anything, but have you dropped it recently? Also, last thing, how much free space do you think you had on your drive last time you checked? Any system performance slowdown?

Otherwise, it could just be that your OS got corrupted.

The only reason the HD failure is my first guess, is that it just happened to me and my friend within the past week.
