How to prevent killing your sperm?

I've heard this before, but my buddy reminded me recently about a study he read awhile back about laptops resting near or on your nuts will sterlize your sperm destroying your chances of reproduction due to (i believe) its emitted heat and electromagnetic fields/waves. I haven't dug up this report yet, but I do remember hearing about it mor than once elsewhere.
My concern is not just to protect my nuts, but also elsewhere. With more and more wirless connections being realized everywhere we go, does anyone feel like they are radiated on a constant basis one way or another? lol
Here is a brief list of stuff that may be traveling thru your body:
Cordless phone
Cell phone
Laptop wireless network
BlueTooth
Laptop
Cordless headsets
Monitor (lcd/crt)
The proximity of these devices may vary depending on where you are.
I find the cellphone to be a bit dangerous since they're in your pants pockets so often, lol.
I think i'm starting to glow a bit green at night

You do realize that most of us have been bombarded with TV and radio signals our whole lives, not to mention those high-tension power lines that also emit some nasty stuff, and yet we still find ways to procreate?
I'm willing to say there's essentially no risk -- speaking as someone who's used a laptop with wireless since around 2000, and yet managed to have a child somehow. (I think it involved at least one night of not using any of these devices, though. )
If there is any risk, though, (which I still think there isn't) it would be when portable devices are transmitting an RF signal, and the inverse square law says they'll need more power if they need to transmit a further distance. The only one on your list that transmits at any large distance is the cell phone. And since it's only transmitting at full power when you're talking, I think you're safe no matter what pocket you put it in while it's waiting for a call.
If you're still concerned, wear tin foil underwear.
edit: Added link to RF shielded undergarments. Really!

The best way to prevent killing your sperm is to not hit yourself in the nuts with a hammer.

Anyone else notice WDLove has been absent lately? This is the kind of thread I would expect a post like this form him:
"Protecting your sperm is a loving and very important thing to do."

Actually... they go suicidal after a few days of "non-activity". So there's no way to prevent killing them.

So much freefloating radiation flies through our civilized selves constantly. The only two things people MIGHT worry about on that list are laptops and cell phones. The former, because of direct contact with HEAT and not because of any other wavelengths of radiation (and so some laptops are safer than others); the latter because of some study a couple years back...and it's debatable.
What we do know is that coffee gets those little guys flowing a lot more, so compensate with a cappa.

Perhaps what you have heard is that emitted heat is electromagnetic waves? Because if so, then you've heard right. As studies have indeed shown.

The laptop thing is partly true because of the heat emissions.

Well, I was considering laying out specs for a hypothetical USB-powered "laptop cooling pad" that you could attach to the bottom of a laptop: keep it cool and block RF radiation at the same time.
It looks like I've been beaten to the punch, though. Here's one for $20.

The only way to save your sperm, is to set them free.

Your family jewels are safe from your laptop as long as they are not uncomfortably warm from the laptop's heat. They moderate and manage their temperature (about three degrees F lower than normal body temperature) quite well and are fairly resilient when challenged by heat, exertion, dehydration, etc.
One thing that definitely IS bad is to hold an active, 1990-vintage vehicular radar gun in your lap. Bad idea. These devices DO leak substantial amounts of microwave radiation in pretty much all directions and many a traffic cop lacks children because of it.

It has more to do with the heat produced by your notebook than any ambient emitions.
BTW, If you believe in conspiracy theories (cue X-Files theme music) I think the industry trend in calling laptop computers "notebooks" is a legal move to avoid potential lawsuits associated with damaged caused to the "lap region" by "laptop" computers.

That's BS.
He left because the mods deleted 1300 posts or postcount of his.
He only posted once after that incident.

Let's not try to make things up that weren't the reason. He's holding a grudge, ok. But to blame it on the members here, pretty pathetic.
