350D RAW files not being read

I've taken RAW files from 3 places, off of an existing CD which I used to back up my RAW files from before I switched, from the CF card via a reader and from the camera itself. None are being read in OS X (10.4.3). Whether in Preview or iPhoto.
I know there's nothing wrong with the RAW files because iView Media Pro reads them.
Any clues?

I know this is a very old thread but if you are still out there have you solved the problem.
I am running 10.4.6 and can't get Aperture/iPhoto/Preview to read my RAW files. The files themselves are fine.
Any ideas.
Many thanks.

Nah, not that old, but just under the wire for the permissible resurrection period. "Very old" is when people resurrect threads from 2003 and then start responding to the original posts as if nothing... ::sigh::
Anyhow, perhaps this trick can help.

Thanks for the tip, however I've tried it, to no avail. The problem was apparently addressed in 10.4.3 but my mac running 10.4.6 doesn't read the files even though the raw.plist has the required string for an EOS 350D. Perhaps it is the camera?

What's the exact behavior you are experiencing? ("Can't get... to read" is much too vague.)

RAW file format (.CR2) is not supported. This is system wide whether in Preview or iPhoto6.
