This is what I see in Safari when browsing the Rotten Tomatoes RSS page:

76% Cars

While the story may not reach the high standards of UPSZ!TUPZ and UIJOLDFECT, viewers of all ages will marvel at the technical brilliance of the animation and come away satisfied. Read more…

When I copy and paste it into the forum it is fine:

76% Cars

While the story may not reach the high standards of Toy Story and The Incredibles, viewers of all ages will marvel at the technical brilliance of the animation and come away satisfied. Read more…

I have this problem with my wife's PowerBook running 10.4.6. It seems to be related to certain CSS styles (for example, italics). I got it to go away temporarily by cleaning out font caches and trashing Safari's prefs, but it came back after a while.
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.

Definitely a font problem; however, I still don't know what exactly caused it in my case. What I do know is that I'll never touch FontBook again.

Those weird scrambled fonts do have this disorientating effect, don't they?

If I was you, I'd check your Helveticas...
