I think an app that works really well has the potential to be more frustrating than a lousy one which doesn't surprise when it fails to work properly. However, a really good app temporarily fools you into thinking you've reached computing nirvana, until you discover you can't add an alarm to a Birthday event!!!!!!! I know, I'm the umpteenth-thousandth to gripe about this, but geez...that's the most important thing about a digital calendar - ALARMS. And birthdays are pretty important too.
The other beauty of digital calendars is being able to take them (and their ALARMS) with you. iSync is really super; I was so happy when the Nokia 6230 finally became iSync compatible. But guess what? The Birthdays calendar isn't sync'd - the others work beautifully. Geez! I know the birthday calendar is built from the Address book, so it's not a standard calendar, more of a subscription. But I would imagine anyone who uses iCal for home stuff, probably uses it for Birthdays too.
I've sent feedback to Apple on these two points.
I wonder if others who auto-create a birthday calendar (from the data in address book) get it Sync'd with their phone or PDA. Is that problem confined to the 6230 or more general?
Thanks all!
(p.s. I better find a fix before I miss someone's b-day b/c I'm busy complaining
)
