Hello fellow Maccers,

My Windows Mobile phone (Qtek 9100, many different names) has flash storage expansion. By installing a small application called 'wm5torage' you can turn the phone into an USB Storage Device. Basically this nifty tool attaches the flash memory card to the USB interface as a flash disk.

Using windows this of course works like a charm. Fortunately I have no PC's, and now have to carry my USB stick around while my phone sits there idle with a whole GB in it.

My error.log shows:
Jul 10 12:40:00 Rutgers-PowerBook kernel[0]: USBF: 13387.577 AppleUSBOHCI[0x1c0c800]::CreateGeneralTransfer - trying to queue to a stalled pipe

Jul 10 12:41:24 Rutgers-PowerBook kernel[0]: USBF: 13471.484 AppleUSBOHCI[0x1c0c800]::Found a transaction past the completion deadline on bus 25, timing out!
Jul 10 12:41:55 Rutgers-PowerBook kernel[0]: USBF: 13502.485 AppleUSBOHCI[0x1c0c800]::Found a transaction past the completion deadline on bus 25, timing out!

Yet, on the USB bus it clearly shows:

Windows Mobile Device:

Version: 0.00
Bus Power (mA): 500
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Microsoft
Product ID: 0xffff
Vendor ID: 0x045e
When I connect it to a PC for the first time it shows Windows installing some components for the Windows Mobile Device, and after that the USB Mass Storage stuff. methinks that OSX somehow stumbles on the WM part, and doesn't see the disk underneath it.

Anybody have any clues?

Couldn't make it work either, try Card Export II from http://www.softick.com/

This works, but unfortunately costs money.

Thanks for the reply! I'll try it out even though $20 is expensive compared to USB drive prices nowadays...

[update]
installs like a charm, but my Powerbook fails to see any device attached to the USB port when it's set to "Card Export". I guess I'll be lugging that USB key along for a while more...

Are you using Missing Sync to manage the phone? I know the Palm version has a program to mount the Palm device as a disk.

It does work - you just need to fiddle with preferences, tick the boxes Alt init order and Use Dumb Endpoint in hardware preferences, et voila.

Should have mentioned that before. Sorry.
