Every time I move the screen on my MacBook it sounds like an old door opening and closing. I can see where it's pushed against the side of the case on one side and not the other.
I need to start using it in quiet meetings and so forth soon so I finally sent it in to Apple for repair. So my question is, has anyone had it repaired?

One of my 5 replacements had a creaking hinge, #3 i think. I had it exchanged.
I simply gave up at #5. I'll wait for MacBook Rev E, they should have everything sorted by then.

I lived with mine for awhile but since I'll be in meetings and what not where it's quiet, it's quite audible when moving the screen around. I don't want to be THAT GUY with the annoying computer.

No, it's coming back from Apple today. The hinge was noticably attached incorrectly.
I don't think I'm going to grease up a laptop when no one else has to.

Last update:
The hinge no longer squeaks. The case was repaired and after emailing Apple they said they would send me a new power adapter too. The whole situation was handled very well. I guess I'll be buying AppleCare after all.

That's good to hear. What was wrong with your power adaptor?

How often do you really adjust the screen, and what's the big deal about a little creaking noise. Or a lot of creaking noise?
If you've ever sat next to a Dell with 2 fan ports on the back and listen to that thing doing its impression of a hovercraft, the MacBook occasional creak seems, well, minimal.

I guess different people are affected by the squeakyness in different ways.
While it doesn't affect me that much, and while it sounds like it doesn't affect you Bryan, I can understand how some people would feel differently, and if they paid for a squak-free laptop, that's what they should get.
I'm glad things worked out for you Ben

Everytime the laptop moved, the screen made noise, If it were on my lap and typing sometimes a constant creak would come from the laptop with each key hit because of that little of a movement.
While on iSight talking to someone I was adjusting the camera here and there by moving the screen and each time a loud noise would shoot across the microphone that sounded like I was beating some kind of small animal. When I would be in a quiet meeting and open my laptop the room would look around and it's disturbing.
Before when the laptop squeaked you could see where the hinge of it was placed incorrectly on the laptop. On the left side there was way more room than the right. The right side was pressed hard against the case and the squeak was caused by the hinge eating into the side of the casing. Now there's a little bit of room on both sides and the squeak is gone.
Mine was no where near minimal creak. It was frequent and everytime the unit moved. I also do not care about the fans on a dell. Dells don't creak. My T42 has a very loud fan, which doesn't irritate me as much because I understand the purpose of the fan whereas on the MacBook it's just plain defective.
