How old is your Mac that you physically use on a daily basis? If you have multiple Macs you can check each one off. Indicate the *year model* of your Mac, not necessarily the year you bought it.

In order to qualify for this it has to be a Mac that you bought and own that you physically sit in front of and use on a daily or almost daily basis. So the old iMac that's being used as a file server but you don't actually use often doesn't count.

For example, I use my 2006 Intel iMac on a daily basis. I also have a Powerbook G4 but I only actually pull that out and use it at the most once a week, so that doesn't count.

Edit: My bad, there isn't a 2007 Mac. Oh well, if you bought a Mac in 2007 go ahead and check that.

I use a PowerBook G4, last revision. 1.67 GHz, 1.5 MB RAM, 80 GB, superdrive. I bought it in during the middle of December 2005. That's all I use.

A friend of mine uses his daily at his sign shop. It runs the design software perfectly and connects to his plotter without a hitch. His philosophy is: why spend money on something new when what he has suits his needs?

He does have it pretty much maxxed out. Actually, it's his third one and he can pick up used ones cheap. I think he's got a couple in reserve incase the current workhorse pukes.

Go Pismo!

This is from my 400 MHz pismo at work. I still remember the day I brought it home, and thought it was so fast and shiny... it still works, but I wish it had the horsepower to play youtube videos. But I'm sure my boss is glad it doesn't :-\

at home I have a G5 powermac too.

I use 2 machines daily, but I call my MDD my primary machine so only voted 2002. I use my ibook every day in class, but my MDD has my pictures, personal files, music, etc. I also use my blue and white G3 often, but only as a music server.
AT&T iPhone 5S and 6; 13" MBP; MDD G4.

My aging (yet still incredibly useful) 2001 733 QS does everything I could possibly need it to do. I maxed out the RAM, threw in an extra big HDD, and chucked a Pioneer DVR-109 in without any problems. You name it, I've done it on my Mac...even modeling+animation in Lightwave.

I sit here right now on my dad's (although I bought it) B&W G3 300. Shes a bit long in the tooth, but does everything a 60 year-old would need in a computer....especially zero headaches. Runs 10.3.9 without a hicup and allows me to waste time on the ol' NN on my lunch break.

My next machine will most likely be a MacBook Pro (when I get the money) and my dad will inherit my ass-kickin G4.

So as you can see, the majority of MacNNers have relatively new Macs.

August 2002 17" FP LCD iMac, 800Mhz, 1GB, recently replaced the 80GB HD with a 250, and it still works great. I just sold my 1.33Ghz 2005 iBook G4, as I no longer need it.

Edit: Amended.

2006 for my MB. It's the only machine I've got, and here's hoping it lasts me a good long time.

why don't you guys just call each other poopy heads and be done with it. Honestly, this grammer bickering sounds like a bunch of preschoolers.

anyway, I go to the vet that was featured in a switcher ad years ago. I love watching the progress of their equipment. Now the front desk is 5 or so sparkling new imacs, the first room behind that is lampshade imacs, I was in an examining room with a snow imac yesterday. I bet they have the colored imacs doing inventory or something in the basement. Must be nice to be in a company that upgrades its equipment so regularly.

me, my daily machine is a 2005 powermac G5. I've been on a spending hiatus. I wanted the intel stuff to settle in before I committed. ... and I bought a boat which used up my boat/computer budget for last year anyway. I also have a powerbook that I think is 2004 that I use once or twice a week. I have to fix the kids' powermac G4 daily and their emac but "fix" isn't the same as "use."

I use a May '05 iMac G5 every day, and as much as I lust for an Intel Mac, this thing is great. I didn't check off the November '02 TiBook that's still in active duty in my home, because I've handed it down to my girlfriend. She uses it every day, but I only need it now and again.

aside from my MBP; my daily powerhouse is an upgraded Sawtooth running at 1.5 ghz. Everything except the bare motherboard and powersupply have been upgraded to the limit. It's my most favorite computer ever, and it kicks the MBP to shame in most areas except booting up and web java.

And noise.

I used to own a dual 1.33ghz g4 quicksilver. 9800 pro, raided 160 gigs with sonnet ata133 card, usb 2.0 card, upgraded fans, fan controller, everything was maxxed or modified. Great machine. I just ran out of room to upgrade.

1.33 ghz 12in Powerbook. Almost three years old. Looking to upgrade the little guy to something more powerful while I'm actually making money. Hopefully it'll get me through a lot of "poorer" times ahead.

My May 2003 eMac 1Ghz. is still my main machine. I plan to upgrade sometime towards the end of this year or the beginning of the next to a MacBook, partially due to a fried CRT (using an external 20" LCD now) and my increasing need and desire for portability. I have the RAM maxed out at 1 GB and replaced the stock HDD with a 160 GB HDD.

I also have a newer Core Duo Mac Mini, a 500 Mhz. iBook G3 and a PowerMac 8600, but I didn't check those because the iBook sometimes goes days without use (though often I use it for days at a time), the 8600 is used only once in a while and the Mac mini, though newer and more powerful, is used as a "theater hub" Mac and is not not used daily either.
