So, almost every other time that I am using finder, either to browse through difference folders, or just on the desktop, whenever I have two fingers on my trackpad (mpb c2d 2.16GHz 1gb) and i click the button, all my desktop icons dissapear, and finder just relaunches...

...If also if I just do the two-finger click, for any reason, whether it be to create a new folder, or to cut/paste or anything...whenever i need the "right click" function, it almost always does this. Does anyone have an idea of whats goin on?

i'm on 10.4.8

/Library/Contextual Menu Items or ~/Library/Contextual Menu Items

It's probably the Suffit contextual menu item or another incompatible contextual menu item. Remove it and restart.

Move it out of the Contextual Menu Items folder and restart your computer. It won't be in use then.

It doesn't affect how StuffIt runs except that you won't have the StuffIt contextual menu (which you don't have now anyway since the Finder crashes when showing it). Maybe the maker of StuffIt has an update the fixes this problem. I don't know. I don't use it.
