Hi,

I got my Powerbook back yesterday from repair at the depo. After replacing everything but the logic board, it was finally replaced this time around. So technically i have a new computer with an old case and display.

Now the problem comes in. The G4 is running over time and won't come to rest at all. It always hover between 70 to 90% usage with Skype, Adium and Firefox open. Is their another hardware problem or should i reinstall Mac Os?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Biest

As sub recommends check the RAM also its probably a good idea to reinstall to see if that speeds things up.

i've had a mac come back after a mobo replace and was missing 70% of its ram. They'll mail you new ram right away if thats the case.

Lack of RAM wouldn't cause over-utilization of the processor. I'd reinstall.
