My dad and I both currently are on a FamilyTalk plan and we're both gonna upgrade to iPhones. Is it possible for us to individually activate our own iPhones? My dad doesn't have an Apple account, as far as I know, and I want my iPhone to be tied to my own account. That and we like our current plan.

I upgraded one of the handsets in a familytalk plan to iphone. I kept the same plan, and the costs of the plan actually went down.

You can do what you want to do, associating the second line number with your own itunes account. The phones would have to be activated individually anyway, not two at one time.

I've upgraded lines on a family plan. You can do each line individually no problem.
