This deals with Office 2003 for XP.

I need to save all the emails that are currently in Office somewhere so I can transfer them to another computer. I will be wiping a laptop as soon as I can get a way to save the emails (needed for business records). For the life of me, I cannot remember how to do this, except by saving the one by one, which just isn't feasible (1000+ emails).

Just back it up to a PST file.

From the File menu within Outlook, select the Backup... option.

When the Outlook Personal Folders Backup screen appears, click the Save Backup button.

Easy.

Can I move the .pst file to another computer and return it after I reinstall the OS?

Yup, did that a couple of times actually. Not sure about the account settings, filters, etc. though - the PST might only contain the mails themselves, you may wanna google that one

That's all I need is just the emails. Settings and whatnot were nothing special and actually won't be needed.

I have transfered the .pst file, but can't seem to open it to view the emails.
