So I was playing around with my 1 week old Macbook Pro this morning while hanging out in bed, the computer sitting on a pillow so I wouldn't burn my lap. The computer had been put to sleep all night and wasn't on AC power. I start up Photobooth and decide to take a picture. I click the picture button; it does its usual 1...2...3....SCREEN GOES BLACK. But not completely. I still see the faint outlines of the windows, and if I click somewhere I can see that the program window changes. So, obviously, it's something with the backlight. I think scary thoughts about having to take it all the way back to the Apple Store to get it repaired while I squint to see the Apple menu as I shut it down. I start it back up and the backlight is fine.
The boyfriend claims that it's because I had it on a pillow which didn't allow the heat to dissipate. I disagree (this was something I did all the time with my old Toshiba laptop), but I can't think of another answer. Any help?
