Hi All,

I have an Airport Express that I purchased from the Apple Store a few months back as an opened box item for a reduced price. Recently, I have noticed that the wireless network is losing stability, in that I see the signal strength fluctuating (typically my MBP sits about 6 ft from the AE unit) and sometimes I lose connection to it. Usually, powercycling the unit temporarily fixes the problem.

My question is whether any of you have this device and if so, have you had any stability issues with it?

I have an express unit I've had for a couple years, and it works well. Try a utility like AirMoose to see if any other wifi points on the same or adjacent channels at moderate to high signal strengths are operating in range. Changing the unit's channel to something less occupied could help.

Are you sure your signal strength is actually fluctuating? There's a known bug that makes the signal indicator in the menu bar go from all bars to only a few for no real reason.

I have two rather old Expresses and both work reliably (WPA2, MBs and MBPs connected).
