I'm trying to find the best Microsoft Exchange client for Mac that supports mail, addresses, tasks and notes. Basically, there are no good clients - every choice has its drawbacks.
Consider It Fixed: Entourage 2008 - Microsoft’s MAC Business Unit Better Be Listening
I took a look at a beta of Office 2008 and was really shocked to see that its Exchange support was still poor. The Mac Business Unit has been very quiet.
Does anyone know about any improvements?

In what way?

I predict hell will freeze over before Microsoft releases a true Exchange client for Mac OS.

In the beta that I saw, Entourage 2008 still doesn't support Exchange tasks and notes.

Its beta. While I personally don't expect it to be better, a beta is not a finished product.
For example, we have a beta right now that we gave out to a bunch of people and we disabled a bunch of major functionality because its too buggy. That's standard practice.
So not saying its going to be any better at release but you can't judge it on a beta.
