I was trying to clear up some space on my hard drive by deleting my previous sytem folder. I moved the wrong "Library" folder and put it in the recycle bin. I realized what i did, when to move the library folder back to the "system" folder and finder froze... i restart and now i cant boot into OS X at all. All i get is the red cirlce with a stripe through it and it boots into my windows partition. Ive tried booting into safe mode and that doesn't work either.. PLEASE HELLPPP

also, i cant boot with my OS X install DVD either

Put it into your Mac, reboot and hold down the C key. Or hold down the Option key while it's turning on and select the disc as boot volume.

Then do an Archive & Install again.

Try holding down the Option key during startup with the OS X install disc in the drive. Then, select the install disc and you should be able to boot from it.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

When you install OS X: Under the first "Options" button you have the option to "Archive and Install" while preserving network and user settings.

That's the one you want.
