Rick Rubin produced weezer. Interesting. The singles pretty good, actually. I haven't really given a **** about them since pinkerton.

Oh dear. I pray they do something good this time. Green album was passable. Everything after was meh and double meh.

"Blue" rhymes with "poo".
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.

It did. Pinkerton was their opus magnum though.

Damn, I was hoping this was a thread about the amazing Red Album by Baroness.

If I had a signature, it would be better than yours.

Hooray!

Man, I love Weezer. "We're All On Drugs" was pretty stupid though.

"My Name Is Jonas" is the extent of my Weezer knowledge...

Yes...

It is because of Guitar Hero II.

Good album. Small audience for that, here, I would guess. That album didn't "grab" me like first and second did, though.

Really? "Buddy Holly" was probably the most overplayed single of the mid-'90s. How dare you not have heard it!!!

All my taste lies pretty underground and/or overseas and nothing too metal, abrasive or obscure gets put on the radio anywhere near Tulsa. Our stations are basically nothing but top 25 pop, hip hop and classic rock; therefore I am pretty much incapable of naming what songs are singles even from mainstream bands I like. I usually don't find out something is a single until I see it has a video.

I just youtubed Buddy Holly. The video I recall, however the song itself I don't remember as much.

I'm going to have to resort to Amazon for finding the older Baroness albums. I have no doubt they are completely worth it.

Weezer is a band that makes albums with a single, and the rest filler. Their songs are whining and crying backed by instruments.

Two steps:

1. Listen to Pinkerton
2. Come back here and apologize for spreading LIES!

Listened to clips on iTunes. I stand by my statement.

Sounds like music you'd play when you break up with your girlfriend. Then you can punch dance it out in your secret grove.

Funny. I've never ever heard anyone make that claim about Weezer.

Ignorance or trolling? For shame...

Don't worry. That opinion - unlike olePigeon's here - is shared pretty much with every one.

I didn't say people can't like whining and crying. Just not my kind of music.

I think you are confusing Weezer for Simple Plan.

Green was where I stopped caring about new Weezer material. It has a few good songs, but it's completely meh on the whole. And Cuomo's voice in "O Girlfriend" makes me want to claw my face off.

The new single sounds pretty good though.
