Does anyone think if it throbbed from left to right it'd feel like it was moving faster?
Always bugged me.

Apparently there's a reason for the throbbing going backwards, but I don't know what it is.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

It seems to go faster because its moving backward. Think about it. As it moves backward, it looks like the end of the progress bar is moving away from the start, and appears to be moving faster than it is. It would appear to move slower if the gel moved forward.

What I like about the iPod touch and the iPhone is that there are no pulsating, attention-grabbing progress bars. Animations are reserved for practical applications not just there because it can.

That being said, in Vista the pulse goes from left to right and it does seem more natural since that's the way the bar is growing. I don't think it appears any slower than in OS X. That damn bar is usually stuttering so much anyway, making long jumps, that any optical illusion of it moving faster than it is seems a dud.

It smells of desperate measures in Cupertino to hide the glacial slowness of 10.0 perhaps?
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

No, just an Aqua revamp of the barber pole progress bar.

Although I'm not sure if I remember ever seeing an Aqua barber pole bar...

I'm sure you have. It's still in use as the indeterminate progress bar.

Maybe it's supposed to be similar to a comet tail.
If I had a signature, it would be better than yours.
