The War on Drugs and the War on Terror? It's hard to say that 'we' (whoever that is) won either of those.

Did the US win those? Last time I looked they were still bogged down in fighting.

well i guess we could discuss iraq/afghanistan, i was thinking about the bigger wars: the war on marriage and the war on christmas...those are much more important IMO..

I, for one, think that victory over Christmas is truly worth fighting for.

I know, I know, but if we beat Christmas, I feel marriage would capitulate. It would be such a huge blow to morale.

You're forgetting the War on Poverty. Or did we win it, and I wasn't alerted?

This thread is awesome.
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

Are you kidding? That would be a huge victory for the mental well-being of men everywhere.

I thought the same thing, divorce rates spike around the holidays … something to do with stress

I hope lessons have been leaned though. You can't just beat Christmas, you need to plan for the long term or you'll just end up with insurgents like Kwanzaa slipping into the holidays and causing trouble for years to come. Maybe you could extend Thanksgiving into Christmases old slot to win some hearts and minds.
