Hi. I am using Leopard with all the latest software updates. I cannot delete a printer I added (but it never worked) from "Print & Fax" in System Prefs. I also cannot turn off "Printer Sharing" by unchecking it from the Sharing pane, nor can I remove "Printer Sharing" under Sys Prefs > Security > Firewall. I am definitely trying with sudo privs. Any idea what the problem might be and how to override it? Please advise.

Log in as an admin and try again.
Printing has become problematic, I cannot add printers either, even though I have authenticated myself.

Thanks for the tip. I tried that and got the same results. I also cannot add printers, nor can I edit the existing printer. Print functionality is hosed for me and print sharing is still stuck on too. I wonder if there are some text based files that can be manually edited.

Can you restart the computer to see if something's hung?

I can't imagine everyone is having this issue. Printing just does not work. I don't think this should be the problem but will point out that I have Gutenprint installed too.

I just tried again as Admin after rebooting... same problem still exists.

You have an app in the utility folder call printer utility (or something to that effect)? If so, open it and look for the "reset printing (printer?) system in the menubar. Choose that and see what happens.

64stang06 hey thanks! Per your recommendation, I searched for "leopard reset printing" and came across this Apple article. A few clicks later and all my woes were gone, including the print share I could not get rid of.

Thanks all for the advice

No problem. If I was on my Mac at the time of the writing I would have been more clear, but I'm glad it worked out for you

FYI, here's a pic to which the article is referring, for those wondering:
