Anyone know what Steve Job's uses as his computer?
Must have a Mac Pro, I would think, at his desk. Probably with a 30" ACD or three.
But I assume that he has a portable... would he upgrade it each time there is a new release? Or does he have his trusty iBook that he has had for the past four years?

Is the Pope Catholic?
I would think he probably gets e-mails, likes to take pictures of his kids, read news, install applications on his iPhone, SSH into Apple HQ when he is on business trips to Taipei etc.

Do you really think he knows how to SSH in?

Yes.
You can't get a lackey to view your boobie pics for you. Well, you can, but it's not very satisfying.

I am sure he does. He doesn't know nothing... I am sure that he hasn't done any hard-coding for a while, but I am pretty sure he is not a dumbass when it comes the subject.

I agree he would not bother to work on a computer for most of his job. I imagine that he might have a 24" iMac at home on a neat uncluttered desk, can't really imagine him with a huge block of Cinema Displays and a bulky Mac Pro underneath.
For most of the work and communication he would use his iPhone, of course.

I can't imagine Steve using something (relatively) unattractive as a MacPro. I reckon it would be a top of the range iMac

Well he certainly a) doesn't use a Mighty Mouse for any length of time, b) has never used a non-apple mouse, or c) figures that anything slightly better than the "puck" mouse is good enough, because despite Steve's seemingly high standards Apple still sells the damn things.

I bet there's something that Steve doesn't use... ...the bloody awful desktop keyboards Apple forces on people. I bet he's got a stock of the white Pro keyboards in his basement. With lovely little iSkin thingies for them.

That is one thing that IBM did very well. I would believe that he has an old-school one with a PS2/USB converter. Except he got it painted white and tapered the edges to make it beautiful.

Well he used a 17" Powerbook in 2004.

"I mention this because when one hears 'pancreatic cancer' (or Googles it), one immediately encounters this far more common and deadly form, which, thank God, is not what I had,'' Jobs said in the memo, which he wrote on a wireless 17-inch Apple PowerBook laptop.

I really don't think he uses one that much. The software demo portion of a Stevenote is usually kinda awkward.

Certainly feels like he is demoing someone else's software. He also likes to spend inordinate amounts of time in iPhoto.

Why would he need a mac pro? I assume he has an iMac and a MacBook Pro. Jus because he can doesnt mean he will have a Mac Pro. OTOH, Rush Limbaugh has somwhere around 5 Mac Pros for no reason for personal use.

Well, he can have mine, if he wants.
The new ones are SO much better than those sticky, clunky white ones.
They're not ADB Extended Keyboard II good, but those godawful white ones really piss me off.

So a mini would work just as well as a Mac Pro then.

A 30" would not be so nice with the Mac Mini, considering it has no dedicated graphics memory.

I'm the other way around. Can't stand the new ones. They're OK for basic config stuff (like when you have to hit maybe 10 keys a week) but I can't type on 'em. So I went and bought a stock of the old white ones while I still could.

Interesting. I've always felt that the new iMacs are extremely, well, ugly. Along with the new classic iPods. And iPhones. But then again, I'm not a fan of round things. I like it edgy and I hope they'll take that path again, but they probably won't.

Yes, believe me he reads his e-mail. And I am not telling how I know this.
