Hi all,
Is it possible to connect two 22" dell monitors to the latest top spec 17" macbook pro running leopard?
Thanks...

Not without some Expresscard that can provide an extra external monitor connection.

Matrox DualHead2Go Digital ($210) is a better solution, since it uses the laptops quite capable 8600M GPU instead of a low power/low performance GPU in an ExpressCard.

So - to clarify - this allows two external monitors - can you still use the internal screen to have three displays?

If the outputs are both DVI why is the input only VGA?

my guess (at nearly a quarter to 3am) is that DVI is "smarter" and using VGA it maybe hacks it to use a really high (wide) resolution that it then splits allowing the use of two more screens while the laptop only thinks it is outputting one super wide display.

I noticed while looking at the output specs. that it would seem that the max output limit would only allow two apple 23'' displays, and nothing bigger?

Yes, two 1920x1200 displays (irregardless of inches) is the maximum output for the DualHead2Go.
