Hi folks,
I have been using a USB flash drive as a scratch disk for Photoshop on my 2.0 MBP for some time, it has really worked great.
But now with CS4, Snow Leopard and the new 2.8 / faster GPU, I am wondering if it would be possible to use an SSD drive in the express card slot as a scratch disk? Or would a drive in the FW800 slot be just as fast? Besides moving /non-moving parts, what is the benefit of a SSD drive over a optical and would it be an optimal scratch disk.
I run a MacPro with full tilt ram / graphics, twin Raptors, etc, so I am just trying to build on a good idea in the field since that is where a lot of time is spent.
Also, how do I find out what all is available for the MBP X-Card slot to begin with?
Thoughts?
