I'm currently resurrecting an old 333mhz Bronze keyboard PB G3, and as well as replacing the hard drive with a compact flash card, I want to upgrade the RAM from it's current total of 192mb (64mb and 128mb chips fitted, 128mb on top). I am however getting confused about what memory I need. It's supposed to use PC66 ram, but can I use PC133? I've read it should work but I'm not sure. Also, crucial.com says it needs CL2 ram, but I can only find CL3 on ebay, would that work? Also, the chips I've seen are smaller, i.e. they have one row of 4 chips on each side, whereas the chip inside my PB is twice the depth and has two rows of 4 on each side, making 16 chips total on the board.
Any help appreciated! This is the chip I'm hoping may work for me:

My understanding is that you will need CL2 for these older G3 PowerBooks.

Check out our RAM sticky here. It has links and info to help you determine what sort of RAM you need.

I think you jumped the gun a bit here...
The RAM sticky only covers Intel 'Books, the only link I can see that you might be referring to is the Corsair memory config tool - it only has MacBooks & MacBook Pros.
Re-opened.

Thanks seanc. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it, I'm in the UK. It's not crucial I expand the memory but if I can do it cheaply it would be a nice little boost for my son's first Mac.

Perhaps we should consider renaming or re-tasking the sticky like we did with the all-inclusive Mac 'notebook' picture thread? The RAM sticky includes resources/links to a lot of non-MacBook sites to help members I.D. their specific RAM needs.
