My Gmail IMAP account syncs with my Mac and iPhone's mail apps. I decided to try out some filters on desktop Mail and automatically move over some particular incoming emails into a new mailbox. I've been recieving the emails I decided to filter for some time, so decided to copy all the emails I had already recieved into this mailbox (via desktop Mail interface). After a while, I decided that filtering these emails didn't really help me much so I copied the emails back over into the main inbox.

The problem is that now on my iPhone they all appear together at the top of the list, even though the recieved date still displays correctly.

eg

1. unmoved message - today
2. unmoved message - yesterday
3. moved message - a year ago
4. moved message - a year ago

and so on, then:

72. unmoved message - yesterday.
73. unmoved message - 2 days ago

In the Mac app and online inbox, these emails appear as they should, in the order they were recieved.

I don't know if i'm missing a 'filter by' setting, but it seems like some meta data got crossed here. Any ideas on how to fix it? I tried deleting the account and setting it up again but that didn't work.

Thanks.
