Hi there! I've been at this all day... My little brother is in the Babe Ruth World Series in TX. I can't be there. BUT! They have a website- baberuthtv. They play the games live in streaming video. I have not for the life of me been able to get a video to play and I've been at this for 6 hours. The window is there, but nothing plays. Am I too far ahead in versions? Too behind? Is there a browser/plug-in to help? Is there a test page somewhere if it's my computer or the site? I REALLY want to see the kid play!
Me:
MacBookPro 2.53 GHz Intel Cor Duo
OS 10.6.4
Safari 5.0.1
Firefox 3.6.8
Flip4Mac plug-in
What else can I tell ya?

Have you also installed Perian? I don't know if it would matter, but you should definitely try.

Perian.org and VLC are two more essentials.
If it's DRM-protected WMV streaming, there's nothing you can do but use Windows.

The Flip4Mac plug-in may be downloaded at the following link: Windows Media Components for QuickTime

Flip4Mac can be extremely finicky.
Sometime, when I had issues, changing some of the preferences seemed to have helped.

I read somewhere that Flip4Mac is not supported with Safari 4 or 5. Has anyone had any success or failures with it?

From the Telestream/Flip4Mac website:
NOTE: Flip4Mac WMV Player is currently not fully compatible with Safari 4. Until all of the variables have been addressed, we recommend that you use FireFox or Safari 3 for playing Windows Media 9 videos on the web

Yeah, thus I loaded up another machine with Safari 3. Didn't work either.

Can you find the stream url (by looking at the page code) and then copy/paste the url into VLC? That's always my last-ditch attempt to watch a WMV stream.

OK, I'm not sure what I've done. But, I've got it working on 2 dif computers now. on my Old iMac- the plug-in is not there so it asked me to open with Windows Media Player. Yippee skippe- it did. On the MacBook Pro- it opens in the browser. I'm getting greedy now.... Can I make the MacBook version ask me to open with the Player so I can make it bigger?
And thanks everyone. Something here made it work for me.

That's exactly my experience with Flip4Mac, and why I fugging hate it.
It doesn't work for no apparent reason, then you fiddle with it (reinstalls, preferences, browsers) and suddenly it work, for a while. It's all voodoo, no way to consistently troubleshoot it.
