In regards to new yorker cover.
The woman on the left wears the burqa by force, the woman on the right wears it by choice. Women who are called to join religious orders do so knowing that donning the habit is part of it.

Do they live in the Middle East? It would be a good guess to say no.

You are obviously not aware that all women in the Middle East wear headgear, even if they're Muslims. It actually varies by country, and by the sect they belong to. (Cue Doofy)
Why do Some Muslim Women Wear Head Scarves?
Hijab - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Muslims differ as to whether the hijab should be required on women in public, as it is in countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia; whether it should be banned in schools, as it is in France and Turkey ; or whether it should be left for the women to decide."
(Imagine that; there are even differences of opinion and beliefs in the Muslim world, just like the Christian and Jewish ones, even though some people believe everything is black and white!) There are even pitifully ignorant people who believe that Sikhs, which are common in India, are Muslim, simply because they wear headgear. Pathetic, and yet people make sweeping statements, when they know not what they're talking about. BTW, I have lived in Turkey, and it is common to see Muslim women dressing in Western style clothing, even though Turkey is a predominantly Muslim country.

So... you're crying over an infraction and how the mods are all out to get you with their preference to "wingers", but others need to grow a hide?
Since I've come to know most of the moderators of this forum and have gotten an infraction of my own (or a warning, I don't recall), the infractions were not given to you by a "winger" or anyone with preference to "wingers".
I think the problem here is that you've yet to contribute anything of value that they'd put up with you otherwise. That goes for left or right "wingers" as I'd be willing to bet distaste for your lack of substance transcends partisanship. In fairness to you, I perused the full first page of your most recent posts to see if there was a viewpoint or argument in there anywhere and every last one was a one-liner that contributed absolutely zero to the discussion. Every single last one.
I'll turn it over to you, what viewpoint or argument have you actually contributed? Ever.

You seem to be implying that any woman wearing a burqa must only be wearing it "by force". Of course, this is not true.
On the other hand, plenty of Christian churches still adhere to the "woman head covering" bit by Paul. I suppose that would mean they're wearing it "by force" as well?

Doofy caught a multiple week vacation not too long ago.
That was public. Infractions and warnings are usually private.
For example, there was no way for me to know you received an infraction until you complained about it. Is there some way you know who's getting dinged and who isn't?
I mean, there must be, otherwise you wouldn't be casting aspersions. Right?

Does Stephen Hawking know what topics are covered in "Derbyshire Life" beyond those affecting Derbyshire?

The point that you're completely dodging through your personal attacks and attempts at humor, however, is that on almost any park bench where you'd be able to find those 3 women, the one wearing the burqa does so by choice and the one barely covering up her breasts does so by force.

I'm sure they'd be happy to offer a permanent solution.
Once beheaded, she doesn't need to wear the burqa anymore.

In a place where she could be sitting beside a woman wearing a bikini top? Nothing would happen to her. And, if anything did happen to her for choosing not to wear a burqa, it would be illegal.
however, in most places, if the one wearing the bikini top chose to go topless, she'd likely be arrested.

Answering Laminar:
I don't think there are any.
I was being a bit sarcastic with my response to turtle. Perhaps I should have put more in it.
But Muslim women have been pretty badly beaten by their husbands/fathers for not dressing modestly in the USA. Let alone not wearing a burqa in some very strict Muslim countries.
And as Doofy pointed out, wearing the bikini top in some American and Canadian cities is voluntary. It is legal for a woman to go topless as long as she is not doing so lasciviously.

There a few places in the US and Canada where it's legal for a woman to go topless, but, for the most part it's illegal in those two countries, and certainly in the more conservative areas.

In areas where a woman is forced to wear a burqa (and I think we all agree those areas do exist) upon threats against her if she does not, you would not find enough tolerance to allow a woman, even non-Muslim, to wear a bikini top. Let alone the rights to go topless.
I will admit, I do not fully know the severity of punishment that woman faces if she went burqa-less. Though I suspect a beating from the husband would be ignored by the local governments if not outright encouraged.
Most guys I know, if their wife went topless around for a day would take pictures and post them on their facebook accounts.

Illegal or not, it is going to happen. I've seen the results firsthand
I've also seen women go topless in areas it was illegal while police were around and no one was arrested.
So, you still stand by your position that going burqa-less more accepted than women going topless?
