I'm confused about configuring my google calendar on my iphone and iPad. At last count, I found three ways to do it. There's the gmail account setup in settings; you can use an exchange account; and then on the google help pages they describe how to use google sync. Can someone give me the pros and cons of these three methods?
I have multiple gmail calendars that I have set up with my gmail account and a few that I subscribe to so I want to get all of these on my phone and iPad.

When I set up google mail it asked if I wanted to use the calendar. Then I subscribed to other calendars as needed.

I finally gave up on Google Calendar. Started getting some strange happenings when syncing with the desktop. Moved to MobileMe. (Not free, but haven't had any strange issues ... yet)

I sync iCal on my Macbook with Google calendar, but i've not been able to sync the iPad directly with Google calendar. So I have to periodically sync the pad with the mac to keep it current.
This is one of my gripes, along with no wireless iPad sync...
