I'm sure that most of us here understand "TiBook" standing for "Titanium" book, but maybe there are some who don't. Imagine being someone new to our crazy little Mac universe, just getting used to the names of products, and seeing "TiBook" and "iBook" and so forth. Therefore, though I like the "TiBook" nickname, It might cause confusion among newbies. So I'm encouraging the use of "PowerbookG4" or "PBG4" or "Titanium whatever" instead. Thanks.

In fact I happen to prefer Ti-Book, I quite like it.
My PowerBook 2400 used to be named T-Book (in analogy to T-Greg, my nickname, which was given to me when the movie Jurassic Park opened (remember the T-Rex?), because my actual first names are Gregor T.).

I like using a short form and calling it my "Titan".

Sorry SupahCool, I totally disagree.
Well, it's true that newbies might be confused, but so far, TiBook is proving to be less confusing than Kanga, Wallstreet, Lombard and Pismo ever were, probably since anyone who has even heard of the PBG4 knows that it's Titanium, and can make the connection. Nobody is gonna write out PowerBook G4 Titanium every time cuz it's just too long and cumbersome.
If a newbie doesn't understand, they are free to do what they did in the time of Kanga/Wallstreet/Lombard/Pismo: they can ask.
One of the more colorful, but less-than-ideal abbreviations that nobody mentioned in this forum (and I hope this one doesn't catch on) is the TitBook (some people didn't seem to know that Titanium abbreviates to Ti, not Tit....). LOL.
I advocate calling the TiBook the TiBook.

You wouldn't be biased because of the first and last letters in your name (nickname?), would you, tooki? If you have (or get) one, it might go by "TookiBooki"!

its titanium, Ti is the abreviasion ont the periodical table of elements so it just makes sense to call it the Ti book short for titanium book

eh, call it what you want... TiBook, TiPB, PBG4, titbook, mercury...
Anyone, newbies included, will always inquire if they are unsure what is being discussed.
I think it's pretty self-explanatory for the most part... almost a non-issue, IMHO.
