Please post your ideas on this forum, and if possible, with the related links and price.

Any commentary on presented item is also welcome.

With your participation, this thread can become the hottest TiBook accessory catalogue.

Thank you very much.

I know it sucks, but I will begin with Microsoft's IntelliMouse Explorer . 74$
/ProductOverview.asp]http://shop.microsoft.com/Products/Products_Feed/Online/IntelliMouseExp lorer[10036]/ProductOverview.asp

The mouse color fits perfectly with the TiBook, there are 4 buttons and a wheel, when I grabbed the mouse I had a nice impression. Not too light, not too heavy, good ergonomy.

I know a lot of you design students are gonna need a zip drive for your new titbooks, i reccomend the VST zip 100/250. It's thin, a little bright but it gets great reviews. Gateway (wintel bastards) is selling it for a decent price. Gateway has great customer service. http://www.necxdirect.com/hai/prod_p...key=0000148131

Hey Jack Daddy a zip drive is pretty convinient but if you want even more space and convinience (and are willing to cough up half a grand) check out VST's firewire slim harddrive:

I bought the 20Gig. it's powered through Firewire, superfast, supersmall, lots of space and makes transfering files from your desktop to your portable as easy as plug and play.

Also I no longer need to store 8 gigs of MP3 on my desktop or Titanium when it gets here.

i dont have the link, but the headphones are around $80 (although you can get them for free if you buy a higher priced item) and from what ive heard, the sound is not worth the money.

Forget the B&O headphones. All show and no go. Check out the Plantronics DSP-500 headphones. They're USB, not the usual miniplug, and their D/A converter and DSP is supposed to be far superior to the chip Apple puts in the G4. The bass is so strong you can blow your ears out if you want. And then you can flip down the microphone boom and use ViaVoice, English Speech Recognition, Net2Phone, whatever. Also about $80 if you shop around and unlike Soundsticks, they're portable, so you can have great sound wherever you take your PB.

I own a pair of the B&O A5 ear phones. They are actually $160 and are the most comfortable pair of earphones I own. They have great performance at the higher tones, but their bass is something to be desired still. You should look into these if you have money to burn.

Know a retail location where these can be demoed? I want accurate headphones, not a boom box for my head. I was looking at Sennheisers [much better sound quality in my ears than B&O], and even thinking of getting a wireless set and combining them an iCue remote control.

It costs 549$. http://www.formac.com/2k/products/product_frame.html

No idea. Here's a review from Cnet. Here's another"]http://www.zdnet.com/products/stories/reviews/0,4161,2637647,00.html]another from ZDNet. Another from Government Computer News. And one from Family Mac. ZDNet thinks the bass is a little overboard, but says you can opt for the DSP-300 or 400 model, which are a little less expensive and have a little less bass. I prefer the sturdiness of the 500 model. It looks like it'll travel better inside a laptop case.

The new Canon "Titanium" scanner has shown up here in Canada. It is thin, weighs 3 pounds, is USB powered and could possibly fit into your laptop bag (if you need a scanner on the fly) It's dimensions are: 10.1" x 14.7" x 1.3", just a little bigger than the TiPB.
http://www.ccsi.canon.com/scanners/csn656u/index.html

I think it matches my TiPB nicely!

Jackdaddy,

Yes it does come with an installation CD that installs some extensions in your system folder for the VST drive. I don't think it requires anymore installation than would your zip drive so you should be fine.

Once the extensions are installed it is true plug and play. 50MB files swap in seconds. 5MB Mp3 files swap before the progress bar gets a chance to show progress playing MP3, video, just about anything I can think of doesn't use this drives speed to full capacity.

The Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer is a great mouse for a G4 tower/cube, if you are right handed...

But I feel, for the PowerBook G4, you need something portable, while still be optical with a scrolling wheel and multiple buttons. And still having a look to match the PowerBook G4.

You put

It's based off of HTML.

For the bag, Bugs Bunny :-)), I'd prefer Leonhard Heyden Function Rucksack for laptops.
The price is a bit exaggerate, (175$ on http://www.ebags.com) but I've seen no other bag with such a class!

http://www.ebag s.com/products/index.cfm?ModelID=4770&bb_id=b305|s25&CategoryID=0 &sub_site_ID=25&brandid=305&searchtype=searching&t hispage=1&ProductPageLink=Bag
True leather, good factory (Germany), real design, and ergonomic (that's why I prefer rucksacks).

Fear from marks on your 15.2'' screen?
The soft silicone prevents the raised keys on Lombard and Wallstreet PowerBooks from leaving marks on your LCD because the screen and the keytops never touch each other. A TiBook version will probably be available soon.

My recommendations (read procurements) for my TiBook are as follows:
MacAlly iOptiJr USB mouse (maybe not as cool as the yet to be released Micromouse but still 2 buttons and scroll wheel on optical base - I like it anyway!).
Gravis Destroyer Tilt for gaming on VGS.
Roadwarriors Podium Cool Pad to facilitate on bed etc working plus being able to elevate the back of my TiBook makes the fan come on less (BTW anyone notice how bloody noisy these fans are? and how frequently they come on?), makes typing easier and being able to swivel is kewl too.
Waterfield Designs G4 sleeve for added protection inside my Kensington Trek.
TransIntl portable FireWire drive (I went for the 30GB drive and then swapped it over with the 10GB mt TiBook came with so now I have a 30GB internally & a 10GB external for backup - not as slim as the VST but damn sight cheaper!).
Que!Fire CD-RW 8x4x32 (legacy from my Pismo accessory-fest).
& of course the most obvious 'accessory'...
More RAM. 2 x 256MB from Memory To Go for less than $180.
Now I have the greatest system! Portable & versatile to the extreme. I luv it! : )

no need for the extensions if you are running 9.1. It is actually better to toss the extensions that came with the drive and use the os 9.1 firewire extensions.

Any firewire drive is true plug and play w/9.1.
