While other Sprint mobile network resellers -- such as Ting and Straight Talk -- are preparing to finally be allowed to offer the latest iPhone 6 models, one company appears to have gone in the opposite direction. Virgin Mobile USA, which has continually had inventory issues with its current offerings of iPhone 5/5c/5s models since the launch of the iPhone 6, has now removed all mention of Apple products from its online storefront -- though this could be a temporary measure.

The company's former dedicated iPhone pages, which only offered iPhone 5 family models due to a contractual obligation from Sprint that forbid such resellers from competing with Sprint on the latest models, have all been redirected to the company's main smartphone offerings page, which is devoid of Apple products and instead focuses on Android and Windows Phone models. Sprint just recently lifted the ban on Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) selling the iPhone 6 line, and most other Sprint affiliates -- Ting, Boost Mobile, and Walmart's Straight Talk among them -- are preparing to offer the incredibly popular latest iPhones.

It is possible that the move was somewhat unintentional, and in fact Virgin is simply planning to revamp those pages in order to offer both the iPhone 6 models and iPhone 5 family together in the very near future, with the absence of Apple-dedicated pages just a part of the revamp. It would difficult to imagine a US carrier of nearly any size drawing much customer attention without offering the most popular single brand of US smartphone, or any iPhone options, permanently.

Well yeah, why not quit selling the single most popular smartphone. It makes perfect business sense. Who's next? AT&T? Verizon? T-Mobile? Sprint?
