Long time OS X developer SubRosaSoft has announced the immediate availability of FileSalvage 9. The latest version of FileSalvage features up to five times better recovery speed, according to the company, a new user interface, and most importantly, support for OS X 10.10.

Written specifically for OS X Yosemite, and featuring a completely-updated data scanning and recovery engine, the software now has an improved scan-and-recovery engine to dramatically cut down file recovery time, an updated file preview, a refreshed user interface, embedded file recovery, and functionality on damaged storage hardware.

SubRosaSoft FileSalvage 9 software requires Mac OS X 10.7 or above. The software retails for $90. Owners of FileSalvage 8 or below can upgrade to FileSalvage 9 for $30.

Filesalvage is one of the best tools on my repair drive, but by the rising star they need to update their website.

"OS X Yosemite was announced and released to developers on June 2, 2014 at WWDC 2014 and released to public beta testers on July 24, 2014. Yosemite was released to consumers on October 16, 2014."

Subrosasoft needs to figure out a quicker development path if they want to stay in the game. El Capitan will be released likely in less than 3 months...will we then wait another year before Filesalvage will be compatible with it too?
