The first US university to accept Apple Pay at all locations campus-wide turns out to be the University of Oklahoma, according to a blog post from the school. In total, the ultra-secure mobile payment system is accepted at some 400 point of sale locations at the university, from the campus bookstore to all the restauarants. Apple has been a popular vendor at the One University technology store on campus, and also promotes the university's content on iTunes U and on iBooks.

More than 700 campuses are set to begin accepting Apple Pay at some or all institutional points of sale, a natural extension from the relatively select number of merchants that have embraced the mobile payment technology needed to support Apple Pay and its NFC-based rivals. Auburn, where Apple CEO Tim Cook graduated, is among those schools set to support Apple Pay.

NFL subscription service Game Pass added to Apple TV

The NFL's subscription service for all NFL games in the upcoming season -- along with an on-demand archive of games from 2009 to 2014 -- has been added in a new silent update to Apple TV. The $100 annual subscription gives Apple TV owners any out-of-market preseason games they want streamed live, while regular-season games will be available on demand the day after it airs.

Foreign users outside North America and the UK can stream regular-season games live, and also have access to the on-demand features, including the 2009-2014 archive of past games. Users can obtain subscriptions directly through the device or from other venues, and the subscription is good until July 31, 2016. The current year's regular season is just about to begin.

Sorry, but the University of Oklahoma refers to itself as OU, not UO - check their own website for confirmation. Everyone knows (or should know) UO is the University of Oregon.
